Identify candidates who can uncover patterns, evaluate cause and effect, and think multiple steps ahead.
The Understanding Logical Processes Test measures a candidate’s ability to identify logical relationships, understand cause and effect, and evaluate multiple possibilities. It highlights how someone processes structured information and draws rational conclusions — ideal for roles requiring analytical thinking and strategic foresight.
This test is part of the FinxS Cognitive Ability suite and is designed to uncover how candidates apply logic to decision-making, especially when working with complex or ambiguous information.
High scorers can quickly sort through details, detect the logical structure behind a problem, and make sound, well-reasoned decisions.
The Logical Reasoning Test is ideal for roles where structured thinking and pattern recognition are key, including:
It’s also useful for internal development to assess critical thinking and logic-based problem-solving skills.
Candidates complete 17 logic-based questions in 20 minutes. Each question presents a brief scenario or set of statements followed by a multiple-choice question. Candidates must draw a correct conclusion based solely on the information provided.
Example question:
“It is known that X is of a different gender than Y. If Z is male, Y is female and vice versa. X is female. Based on the information, which gender is Z and which gender is Y?”
Candidates are provided with a practice question before the test begins to ensure they understand how to approach the logic challenges. The questions increase in difficulty, allowing you to differentiate between foundational and advanced logical thinkers.
